Does WorkFlow cost anything?
No. Every feature is free, there are no ads, no subscription and no in-app purchases. Automatic clocking is not behind a paywall.
Do I need an account?
No. Install the app, set your workplace, done. No sign-up, no e-mail address, no password.
Where is my data?
Only on your phone, in a local database. WorkFlow has no server of its own. You can export, share or delete your data as a file at any time. The only outbound requests are what the map needs during setup (tiles and address searches from OpenStreetMap).
Does it drain the battery?
No. WorkFlow registers your workplace with Android's geofencing service; the system reports arriving and leaving. The app does not poll your location, it only checks briefly every 15 minutes, in a battery-friendly way, whether a report was missed.
Does the app track me all the time?
No. WorkFlow only knows "within the radius" or "outside". What is stored are the times you arrived and left; no route, no coordinate history. The comparison with your workplace happens on the device.
Does it work without internet?
Manual clocking, reports and export need no connection. Automatic clocking depends on positioning: without Wi-Fi and mobile data it is less accurate, and Android delivers geofence reports less reliably or late. The app itself uses the internet only for the map and the address search during setup.
How accurate is the geofencing?
As accurate as your phone's positioning. The default radius of 150 metres works best outdoors; inside buildings with poor reception a report can arrive a few minutes later. The radius is adjustable per workplace, and every time can be corrected afterwards.
What about Samsung, Xiaomi and similar brands?
Some manufacturers kill background services aggressively. WorkFlow detects that and shows you the steps to switch off battery optimisation for the app. After that the automation runs stably on most devices; if a device keeps misbehaving, the app says so on the dashboard.
Can I correct times?
Yes. Open any day in the records list, adjust every time, change breaks, add or delete entries. Corrections are logged, and automatic and manual entries stay distinguishable.
Is there a timesheet?
Yes. Per month as a PDF with a signature line, your name and employer, or as CSV for further processing. Both are created right on the phone.
Is there WorkFlow for iPhone?
Not yet. Android first, because geofencing runs reliably in the background there. An iOS version is planned once there are enough users.
How do I back up my data?
Export as a JSON file you can share or keep on the phone. When you switch phones, import the file and everything is back. The app reminds you of a backup when there has not been one for a while.
